עלי,עליכם ואלין

TashSat תשס"ט is 5769 is upon us and the Alyn ride is only one month away!

Once again this year I plan on participating in the Alyn's Wheels of Love Bike Ride www.alynride.org

This year promises to be more grueling and challenging. We will be riding 600km's from Yerushalayim, through Har Hanegev, Yam Hamelah and then back up to Yerushalayim

I ask you to make an even greater effor

t this year, helping the children of Alyn.

This year, as you know, I got off to a rough start.

On Feb 27th Mahmad Atta Allalah of Hablah tried to overtake traffic coming up the Nebi Elias hill, drove on the opposite lane almost straight into me. Shavah L'eal Thank G-d I got out of of the accident miraculously. Scratched, bruised, cuts, swollen, and a cast that

I had on for only 8 days. I did do a decent amount of damage to the Palestinian Mercedes (I got the Germans and Palestinians in one thrust)

One of the Morals of this story: Don't Trust in Trust. Mahmad Atta Allalah's insurer: Trust International of Ramalla, is giving me the run around and hasn't paid up.

Just one month after the collision, my front fork explod

ed on my newly assembled bike (frame and fork from ebay). I caused a commotion in front of Zerah's house. Thanks Benny for finding me thanks for all those who assisted.

Moral of this story: where a helmet, even when riding around the neighborhood/

I had no doubt about getting back on my bike and training for the Alyn ride. (Thanks Frumette for putting up with me and my riding insanity). Despite the setbacks I have rode close to 6000 km's in 2008 (despite the setbacks) and about over 18000 km's since returning to cycling two years ago. I hope to be ready soon for the mammoth Challenge ride.

I once again thank all of you who have sponsored me in 2007 and I urge you to to once again help the kids of Alyn, generously improving on your last year's donation,

I also thank all those of you in Ginaplus land and beyond who have permitted me to develop and refine the new science of “tremping” with a bicycle (whenever I miss the Egged bus). This peculiar science gives a new magical meaning to the Zomet “Kessem” landmark.

Take a minute to download this vid about the wonderful work they do in Alyn a leading pediatric and adolescence rehabilitation center

I didn't make it to the hermon but I

made it up to Homesh Tibane vetkonen
